Frankincense and myrrh, two esteemed
gifts taken from the gum resins of trees - the Boswellia
and the Commiphora, respectively – make wonderful
healing partners! Both have been incorporated
throughout history in perfume, incense, aromatherapy, and medicine, especially
Chinese medicine. Their anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antioxidant, and more assets
address issues with a variety of health
conditions, many that Aaron Chiropractic Clinic knows afflict our
Fort Wayne chiropractic patients and/or loved ones who may want to
understand better!
THE COMBINATION: Frankincense and Myrrh
Chinese medicine values frankincense
and myrrh for their extensively beneficial
health effects. Used together, their anti-inflammatory and
analgesic effects and notably for anti-tumor effects prevented
growth of U266 multiple myeloma cells. (1) In Chinese medicine, frankincense-myrrh
are elements of an anti-tumor drug for a variety of
cancers with the newest research presenting
its effect on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). How? By monitoring
pathological processes like cytokine-receptor binding and pathways and targeting
the blood vessels that support tumors in HCC. Tumor
volume was decreased, and pathological structure was lessened
with frankincense and myrrh treatment. (2) Low dose frankincense/myrrh controlled
urotheilial wound healing to help symptoms of acute interstitial
cystitis/painful bladder syndrome. (3) The
frankincense/myrrh comination proves itself to be a
winning/healing one!
NEUROPATHIC PAIN
Aaron Chiropractic Clinic welcomes combinations of
treatments to help our Fort Wayne chiropractic patients seeking
healing. Chinese medicine addresses diabetic neuropathy, a serious
complication of diabetes and cause of kidney disease,
by controlling pathways having to do with the
glucose/lipid metabolism regulation, antioxidation, anti-fibrosis, anti-inflammation, etc. (4) Chinese medicine treatment of neuropathic
pain commonly involves the frankincense-myrrh combination as it is explained
as being able to activate blood and disperse
blood stasis. The frankincense-myrrh treatment
was tested and found to lessen neuropathic
pain likely related to neuro-inflammatory agents TLR4 and MyD88 and to averting TRPV1 and inflammatory factor expression. (5). Aaron Chiropractic Clinic
knows all this detail may not be “up your alley” of wanting
to understand as in depth as this, but we want to share
the whole picture if only to get to the point
that frankincense-myrrh eases neuropathic pain, a great effect!
