Do something. Move. Walk. Stretch.
Patients who suffer with pain benefit when they do
something. A lack of exercise is a risk for worsening
pain, both pain in the body and pain in the mind in the form of depression.
Aaron Chiropractic Clinic takes care of many Fort Wayne back pain
patients in pain who also suffer with depression. Aaron Chiropractic Clinic
also understands that when our Fort Wayne
chiropractic patients do something, they get better in body and
mind.
NO EXERCISE INCREASES RISK OF STENOSIS PROGRESSION
Spinal stenosis is a familiar diagnosis. It is
the lessening of the spinal canal area due
to degeneration. A recent study revealed
that risk of spinal stenosis progression is greater for those with spondylolisthesis, had pain (in leg and/or back) when
walking, and more severe stenosis. The absence of therapeutic exercise
was also found to a risk factor for the progression
of spinal stenosis. (1) Back pain sufferers like those who have spinal
stenosis and spondylolisthesis benefit from exercise! Aaron Chiropractic Clinic helps each of our chiropractic patients find what exercise fits them.
EXERCISE IMPROVES FUNCTION
Nonspecific low back pain sufferers enhanced
their functional disability status more with
stabilization and/or McKenzie exercises than with conventional exercise
programs. (2) Note though that exercise did help, conventional or not!
EXERCISE IMPROVES DEPRESSION
For many back pain sufferers with specific or non-specific
back pain, chronic or not, may well describe themselves as
a little down when their back pain hangs around a while. It’s not uncommon. Once more,
exercise to the rescue! Another study reported that exercise
(low dose or moderate-dose strength and conditioning) helped decrease
depressive symptoms in adults with chronic low back pain. Combining
exercise and manual therapy was a plus! (3) Aaron Chiropractic Clinic brings
in as many positive approaches to back pain relief as
possible to help our Fort Wayne back pain patients! The Cox® Technic System
of Spine Pain Management is one of those approaches.
